Daucus carota

1880s heirloom developed in Massachusetts. An excellent, fiber-rich carrot with a thick core that makes it a grand keeper and a stand up variety for cooking. Roots are short and stocky with dainty little pointed tips. They resist cracking--excellent for growing in heavy soil. Beautiful red-orange, sweet flesh. Reliable and hardy producer. Open-pollinated.

Seeds grown by Swift River Farm in Salmon, Idaho.

Directions: Direct seed outdoors as soon as soil can be worked. Thin to 1-2" spacing. Plant in midsummer for fall or winter harvest.
