Borago officinalis

Long blooming bee powerhouse with delightfully cucumber-flavored flowers.

Honeybees especially go wild for borage, which blooms all summer long. Easily self-sows, but the oil from their difficult-to-catch seeds is potent medicine. Both the scratchy leaves and the dainty flowers are edible and have a pleasant cucumber flavor and the spines disappear when cooked. OP.

Seeds grown by Earthly Delights Farm in Boise, Idaho, and Quel Ranch in Garden City, Idaho.

25 seeds.

Directions: Direct seed outdoors two weeks before last frost, or start indoors 6 weeks before last frost and transplant outside after frost.
