Hedysarum boreale

A native nitrogen-fixer and pretty little perennial herb to boot!

Also called Utah Sweetvetch, this hardy perennial has a thick taproot that breaks up heavy soils, nutritious leaves that wild game and domesticated livestock love, and flowers beloved by honeybees and other native bees. It is also a crucial component of sage grouse habitat. Open-pollinated.
