Tomato, Galina Cherry

  • $4.00

Description

Solanum lycopersicum

Flavorful, early-ripening cherry brought to the US by Idaho seedsman Bill McDorman!

A gift from a brave Siberian scientist who shared these seeds with Bill at great personal risk, he brought her variety to the US from Siberia in the 80's. It's a fabulous variety, with complex flavor packing oodles of bright yellow 3/4" fruits--our earliest-ripening cherry!

Tomatoes are native to northwestern South America and by at least 500 BC they had been domesticated and were being cultivated as far north as modern-day Mexico, enjoyed by Aztec and other civilizations. They spread to Europe and the Caribbean through the Spanish colonizers, where they became staple parts of the food culture in many European countries as well. Their circuitous journey has taken them from the Western hemisphere to Siberia and back again!

Indeterminate. Open-pollinated.

Seeds grown by Earthly Delights Farm  in Boise, Idaho and Sonshine Acres in Emmett, Idaho.

30 seeds.
