An Idaho native wildflower with pretty pale blue flowers. Shade tolerant.
This gorgeous Idaho native wildflower blooms from late spring into summer. Meriweather Lewis named it botanically after himself when he arrived, as though he discovered it, despite the fact that Shoshone and Bannock people were using it extensively to make cordage at that time. It's a great plant for wildflower meadows. Edible, nutritious seeds. Will gently reseed. OP.
Seeds grown by Kelsey Jae Nunez in Boise, Idaho, and the CWI Biology Club in Nampa, Idaho.
