Solanum lycopersicum

King of the garden. Huge, delicate 1 lb fruits with a flavor like no other. A must-grow!

There is little more voluptuous than a ripe Brandywine hanging fat on the vine. It is a sexy celebration, a garish dismissal of tasteless supermarket tomato impostors. Indeterminate heirloom. 80-100 days.

Tomatoes are native to northwestern South America and by at least 500 BC they had been domesticated and were being cultivated as far north as modern-day Mexico, enjoyed by Aztec and other civilizations. They spread to Europe and the Caribbean through the Spanish colonizers, where they became staple parts of the food culture in many European countries as well.

Seeds grown by Field Goods Farm in Boise, Idaho, Green Team Farm in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Ocho Farm in Buhl, Idaho.
